The Iran Story

Alonso et al. A case–control study of risk factors for multiple sclerosis in Iran. 

A study in Iran has confirmed that sunlight exposure is associated with a lower risk of MS and smoking with a higher risk in women (6x higher), but not in men. A past history of common surgical procedures, infectious disorders, or exposure to pets and farm animals was not associated with MS risk.
