Gingseng and Fatigue

American ginseng does not improve fatigue in multiple sclerosis: a randomized double-blind placebo-controlled crossover study.

This study examined the safety and efficacy of an escalating dose (100 mg, 200 mg, 400 mg/day) of American ginseng over 6 weeks in 56 MSers with fatigue. There were no serious adverse events but fatigue on ginsengwas not significantly different from fatigue on placebo.

This phase III trial was started in 2007 and is due to report in 2012. Does anyone know if this is the first trial of its kind?
