Hello Knitters,
Sorry it has taken me a while to get back to you but now it is official - the knit is on!
The MS Society and the British Society of Immunology are supporting my efforts to make 4 tapestries depicitng what MS looks like under the microscope. If you would like to help here is the website with the kntting patterns to make different cells in the brains.... oligodendrocytes, microglia, astrocytes and macrophages.
http://www.immunology.org/Page.aspx?pid=1690#myelin
If you have any probelms please e-mail me and I will try to help.
I have made an oligodendrocyte and foamy macrophage, so it can't be that bad ;-)
The next step is get donations of wool, so if any big departmental stores, wool factories or managers or owners of wool shops have ends of batches they would like to donate please let me know - they will be turned into brain cells.
When you are done with a batch of cells you can send them to me or c/o Professor G.
Good luck with the kntting. Dr Love
Dear Knitters,
ReplyDeleteHere is the address to send your knitted cells to.
Please label it as

If you would like to put a little note in with it I will make a book of all the names that contributed and messages - maybe you want to donate the cells in the name of a relative or friend with MS. It's up to you!
happy knitting,
Dr Love
