Hashtagging: what's in a tag?

#MSResearch and/or #MSBlog?

"If you are social networker you will already know about the significance of the hashtag or #. It tags posts so that you can find them and pull them together using a filter. Hashtags are the way we find needles in the webs many haystacks."

"We have joined Shift.ms in a campaign to promote #MSResearch for any posting in relation to MS Research. We have been using #MSBlog for the last 6-8 months. The question is should we drop #MSBlog or keep it alive in addition to #MSResearch?"

"Why make the change? The big news in social networking are aggregating or integrating sites that hash together content from multiple sources. For example, the following is a site that shift.ms has done using hashtags. As you can see from the site our blog posts are in a separate section based on #MSBlog. Now that we are using #MSResearch our posts will be intermingled with other posts and news items tagged with #MSResearch."
