Lay Abstracts

As ProfG is away and I don't like doing clinical posts, this is the job of Neuros who can deal with consequences of their actions as they do on a day to day basis.

Just had a great Idea.

Wouldn't it be great if every paper carried a lay abstract...it would save me hours and would be really entertaining to see people spin their wears. It would also fulfill the idea of  public engagement in science

Maybe not for science stuff as it would be very painful reading the connections to reality, but that would be fun to read, but for the clinical stuff it should be a must. The journals must realize that the lay public read journals.

This would mean that we don't mis-represent/mis-interpret the study and it means the clinicians engage with the public.

For every Pubmed we could have a PubLay.

Prof G's journal has a highlights section why not become unique and have a lay abstract?
